Samsung has made new compact model and special for internet printer version with one touch print screen captured function. You can get it with cheap price and suitable for family and small office use only. Samsung ML-1660 can print up to 1500 pages with starter cartridge. But you must to buy new cartridge when starter cartridge is out. I think nobody want to buy new when drum cartridge is still new and bright. So we can refill it, but you will get headache to reset counter for Samsung ML-1660/1665/1666. There are many ways to reset it by software and hardware. Here we show you some version of reset tools. Notice: do it with your own risk, think twice before start to use it.

Resetting Printer Canon MP145 and Canon MP160

Canon Pixma MP145/MP160 currently don’t have a software reset tool. But you can reset it by access to manufacture secret code. This method has been tested successful. Do it step by step:

With the printer powered off but connected to a power source, press the Power button while pressing and holding the Stop/ Reset button.
When the Power is lit, press the Stop/Reset button two times while pressing and holding the Power button.
When releasing the Power button and the Stop / Reset button (regardless of order), the printer will move into a service mode. (Waiting for menu selection)
When the on/off lights in green, press the Stop/Reset button the specified number of time(s) according to the function listed in the table below.(Each time the Stop/Reset button is pressed, the LED lights alternately in orange and green, starting with orange.)note: press 4 times for waste ink counter reset.

Reset Samsung SCX-4623F

As many of recommended by RC (reset counter) user, this article will help to reset counter for SCX-4623F

1 – Remove the toner cartridge from the printer and disconnect the USB cable from the printer.
2 – Turn off the printer.
3 – Turn on the printer when holding “Stop” button.
4 – We see Download mode.
5 – Click again to stop “Stop.”
6 – Wait appear image1.
7 – Connect the printer to computer via USB cable.
8 – Wait until the computer screen the message “A new equipment is installed and ready to work.”
9 – Click on the file “dwnl4600.bat” to run it or you can drag file “FIX_SCX4623_V2.01.00.93.hd” and drop to “usbprns2.exe”
10 – Wait until the printer will restart.
11 – Ready, the report page count should bring the following information – 100% of the remaining resources and 2.5K. 12 – No need for repeat procedures, for whenever the printer is turned off it will return back to this page count.

Reset Samsung SCX 4600

Samsung SCX-4600, as well as delivering full multipurpose print functionality – print, copy and colour scan – the SCX-4600 series offers a range of features to make you even more productive. Key among these is the Print Screen function on the SCX-4600, which allows you to print what you see on your screen at the touch of a button. And here is the steps to reset counter:

1 – Remove the toner cartridge from the printer and disconnect the USB cable from the printer.
2 – Turn off the printer.
3 – Press and hold the “Stop” button while turn your printer on
4 – Wait until see “Download“.
5 – Now press “Stop” again.
6 – Wait appear “Wait Image 1“.
7 – Connect the printer via USB cable to the computer.
8 – Wait until the computer screen the message “A new equipment is installed and ready to work.”
9 – Click on the file “dwnl4600.bat” to run it.
10 – The printer will restart.
11 – Ready, the report page count should bring the following information – the rest of 100% resource and 2.5K.
12 – No need for repeat procedures because each time the printer is turned off it returns again with this page count.

Reset Epson Stylus T11 and T13

We have posted an article about hard reset for T11 by hacking to reset counter chip on mainboard. But it is not suitable for new end user, here this way, you can do it with software (Adjustment Program, thanked to OrTHoTaMiNe).

Step 1: Download and extract to C:\AdjPro
Step 2:
With T11:
- You can use auto.bat to start AdjPro.
- Or you can set your system date/time to: 07/07/2009 and double click Loader.exe to load AdjPro.exe
Note: don’t click to AdjPro.exe directly
With T13:
- You only start adjustment program with adjpro.exe no need to do more.

Clear Waste Ink Pad Counter with Epson Adjustment Program

Adjustment Program (known as AdjPro) is the best tool for epson inkjet (stylus and photo) printer user. When your printer status light is like this . Your printer need to clear or reset counter to zero. This is common method to use all version of Epson Stylus or Photo printer AdjPro (every model of printer have its own AdjPro version, don’t have the same AdjPro for all)

Do step by step:

After run AdjPro (Adjustment Program) – Accept Software Licence Agreement

Select your Printer Model (this case is R290)

Select Waste Ink pad counter
Click Check button

Check into 2 position as figure (two red arrows), and click to Initialization

You have finished reset counter to zero by turn off and on your printer. Green light will be up and your printer now OK!

1. First, download below tool as RAR and extract compressed file.
2. Run fix.bat and get an Command Line Screen, Press Enter. You will get FIX_SCX4300_V1.13_Fact_romdl.hd

Press LCD show TECH
Press again, LCD show DATA SETUP
Press and until LCD show FLASH UPGRADE -> Select LOCAL and Press

3. Run download.bat, and wait for a few seconds.

Notice: If your printer ‘s not responded for long time you can turn it off and on again. You can have to re-install printer driver for it.

4. Continue to do steps below:

Press LCD show TECH
Press again, LCD show CLEAR COUNTERS -> CLEAR ALL CNT ->
Wait for RED light is on and turn off your printer.

5. And now use a pickup tool or what thing in your hand remove counter chip on toner cartridge out. It’s OK now!

Remove the label from the top of cartridge
Using the drill tool, widen the refill holes for each color.
Prepare an area for refilling.
Attach the needle to syringe and load syringe with 6ml of ink (For color cartridges) position for the 41, 51, 52 cartridges or 20ml for the black 40 and 50 cartridges.
Insert needle into correct color ink hole (that you created in the vent). Penetrate the sponge inside and be sure the needle does not reach the bottom of cartridge. If the needle penetrates to the bottom of the cartridge, the cartridge will leak and is not salvageable.
SLOWLY inject the ink into the cartridge. Stop if the ink begins to well up from the fill hole. Reverse the process and pull about 1ml of ink if it has spilled out the top of the cartridge.
Clean off top of cartridge, un-tape the next fill hole and tape over the one just filled. This is so you don’t accidentally contamination other colors.
Repeat steps 5, 6, 7, 8 until all colors have been injected.
Clean off the top of the cartridge. Place tape over the top of the cartridge so it covers every hole.
Use a pin and put a small hole (vent hole) through the tape for each hole on the top of the cartridge. This is important, don’t skip this step. The cartridge must be vented to atmosphere or it will not work.
Reinstall the cartidge.

HP Printers Maintenance Message Reset Methods

To clear the Maintenance Service Message from the LCD display for following HP Printers: HP IIISi, HP 4Si, HP 5Si, HP 4000/4050/4100/5000, HP 4100MPF/4101MPF, HP 4200/4300, HP 4240/4250/4350, HP 4500/4550, HP 8000/8100/8150, HP 9000 Printers.

HP IIISi Printers:

Press ONLINE until the light goes off
Hold down MENU until PCL CONFIG MENU appears
Press the MENU key until SERVICE MSG=ON* appears
Press the + or – key to change display to SERVICE MSG=OFF
Press ENTER/RESET MENU key to turn message off, the * should appear, then press ONLINE

HP 4Si Printers:

Press ONLINE until the light goes off
Press MENU until CONFIG MENU appears
Press the ITEM key until SERVICE MSG=ON* appears
Press the + or – key to change display to SERVICE MSG=OFF
Press the ENTER key to turn message off, the * should appear, then press ONLINE

HP 5Si Printers:

Press MENU key 4 times for CONFIG MENU
Press ITEM to display SERVICE MESSAGE=OFF
Press ENTER
Press ONLINE

HP 4000/4050/4100/5000 Printers:

Turn the printer off
Hold down the left side of the ITEM and VALUE +/- keys, turn the printer on and wait until RESET MAINTENANCE COUNT is displayed and then release the keys

HP 4100MPF/4101MPF Printers:

While holding down the START button, turn the printer on
The 3 LEDs will blink, and then stay lit (Release START button at this time)
Press the UP arrow key. Display will read MAINT COMPLETE
Press the CHECK button once, and the maintenance counter is reset
Return to ONLINE

HP 4200/4300 Printers:

Turn the printer power off
Hold down SELECT and turn the printer power on. Continue holding down SELECT for several seconds, until all 3 printer control panel lights flash once, and then remain on (This may take up to 10 seconds)
Use the UP arrow key to scroll to NEW MAINTENANCE KIT
Press SELECT to reset the maintenance kit counter

HP 4240/4250/4350 Printers:

Turn the printer power off and then on
When 000MB (beginning of the memory count) appears on the control panel display, press and hold down SELECT (checkmark button). Continue holding down SELECT until all 3 printer control panel lights flash once and then stay on (This may take up to 10 seconds)
Release SELECT and press the UP arrow to scroll to NEW MAINTENANCE KIT
Press SELECT to reset the maintenance kit counter

HP 4500/4550 Printers:

Turn the printer off
Hold down the CANCEL JOB and SELECT keys and turn the printer on, then wait until the display goes blank and the three LED’s come on
Press the right side of the MENU key, then press the SELECT key
You will enter SERVICE MODE after the normal test completes
Press the ITEM key until the FUSER MAINTENANCE COUNT appears
Press VALUE +/- to change to zero
Press SELECT to save
Press GO; the printer should return to READY

HP 8000/8100/8150 Printers:

Press the MENU button until the display reads CONFIGURATION MENU
Press the ITEM button until the display reads SERVICE MESSAGE = ON/OFF
Select OFF*
Press SELECT to save
Turn printer off
Hold the VALUE MINUS and ITEM MINUS buttons while turning the printer back on Hold buttons down until display reads RESET MAINT/COUNTand then release both buttons

HP 9000 Printers:

Turn the printer off
Press and hold the CHECK key
Power on the printer
Release the CHECK key after all three lights come on The display should read SELECT LANGUAGE
Press the up arrow until MAINTENANCE KIT is displayed, then press the CHECK key again and the maintenance kit count has been reset
